Genspera Inc (OTCMKTS:GNSZ) Spikes Once More

Genspera Inc (OTCMKTS:GNSZ) managed to gain some momentum last week, fueled by media exposure, and it seems like it will be able to rise even further up the charts.

Yesterday saw the company add 5.88% to its market value on a dollar volume of more than one million – which is an impressive achievement for a ticker with no significant developments. Evidently investors are still hyped up about the optimistic statements made in the two interviews that the company gave last week – enough so to push GNSZ all the way to the $0.9 mark. Is GNSZ really as exciting an investment as it makes itself out to be?

Sure, the company talks big, but at the end of the day, all its financial reports can show are some rather meager numbers:

  • Cash and cash equivalents – $121 thousand
  • Total current assets – $202 thousand
  • Total current liabilities – $3.1 million
  • No Revenues
  • Net loss – $1.5 million

As we can clearly see, the company appeared to be rather short on coin at the end of the reported period – which is why, in July, GNSZ closed a private placement and sold around 3.6 million investment units. Said units cost $0.70 each, and consist of one common shares and two warrants. Half of the aforementioned warrants are exercisable at $0.80 while the rest – at $0.70.

Investors are advised to think very carefully on what that means under the present market conditions. Currently, GNSZ has 150 MILLION shares authorized and had only 37 million issued outstanding as of a month ago – so there is plenty of room for dilution.

Long story short, there is no way to be sure at what point the warrant holders will jump at this opportunity to cash in on what they are due, but if that happens while GNSZ is still surging on media hype they’d be in a position to get their hands on GNSZ stock at very profitable rates. What the results of that development will likely be should be quite obvious to any seasoned OTC Markets investor.

This is why investors are advised to be doubly careful around GNSZ.
