[[tagnumber 0]] [[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]Learning Tree International, Inc. (NASDAQ:LTRE) stock seems very close to delisting from the NASDAQ due to noncompliance with certain requirements, though the share price spiked up huge in the last trading session. While the stock hit the $2 per share mark, the selling out volume was huge as well, thus a slump looks very likely today.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 4]] [[tagnumber 5]][[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]Yesterdays session closed at $1.48 for a LTRE share on a total trading volume of nearly 850,000 traded shares which is an absolute record for the past two years. That huge volatility in the share price and the trading volume made technical indicators overcome the critical levels, yet they all reversed at market close and currently stay in a bearish position for today.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]The latest quarter report of LTRE showed its shareholders equity has fallen below the minimal requirement for continued listing on NASDAQ which is $10 million. As of the end of April, the companys equity was only $6.5 million and after receiving the notice of noncompliance on May 20 LTRE had 45 calendar days to submit a plan to regain compliance.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]] [[tagnumber 12]][[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]The possibility of such a plan being accepted by NASDAQ does not seem that huge, which probably makes LTRE stock a good shorting opportunity for the coming days.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]] [[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]Many factors led to the loss in shareholders equity this year, going beyond a drop in sales and an increase in expenses. The company also reported a $3 million loss on discontinued operations resulting mostly from the sale of the French subsidiary. Operating cash flows were again negative, working capital dropped under $1 million and on top of that LTRE does not seem to have a plan how to provide additional capital.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 0]] [[tagnumber 1]]
