MultiCell Technologies, Inc. (OTC:MCET) Sinks in the Red

Several penny stocks we mentioned today went up on bargain buying, but corrected sharply on Thursday’s trading. Among them is MultiCell Technologies, Inc. (OTC:MCET), which shot through the roof at the beginning of the week, but later lost more than 23% to $0.0033. MCET0222.png

But this is to be expected, given that Bird Gang Stocks stopped sending away alerts for this ticker two days ago. Yet MCET managed a good romp, adding 145% mid-week. In terms of business, MCET will hardly go beyond short trading periods, given its somehow weak fundamental data: VOIS0222.png

  • $304,169 cash
  • $1.4 million total current liabilities
  • $12,329 quarterly revenue
  • $317,358 net loss

From now on, it is unknown what will happen to MCET. The stock is cheap enough to invite bargain buying, yet volumes are extremely low without the aid of promoters.

MCET was promoted in 2011, with significant spikes in the winter and summer months, quickly reverting to baseline levels. The ticker in the past has been capable of growing three to five times in price, and erasing the gains in just a few trading days. A similar sharp reversal may be possible for the last campaign.

Otherwise, MCET has kept away from press releases for new activity, and any investors were probably attracted by the accessible stock price. The company has 1.2 billion outstanding shares, with a total of 3 billion shares outstanding. No large insider transactions were recorded so far, except for a purchase of 129 million shares by La Jolla Cove Investors, Inc.

Bird Stock Gang is still a pumper with a limited record, the MCET ticker being the second promotion. But other small cap penny plays pose a bigger danger, such as actively promoted VOIS, Inc. (OTC:VOIS), which was mentioned in 4 emails this month. Between new messages, massive selling brings the stock down the precipice. So, for hotly promoted stocks, it is best to be clear about your own time horizon and accepted risk before losing a large part of your investment in a single trading session.
