Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) Continues to Slide on Monday
The fall on Monday came as expected for the Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER), but was rather subdued- around 14%. WTER fell down to 58 cents, on selling a bit lower than yesterday- $1.25 million. Needless to say, the drop started to become a reality once WTER stopped distributing promotional emails, PR messages, and most probably its paper mailer copies have also ran out.
Still, WTER is actively touted every day on investors’ forums, presented as a high-quality company that is on the verge of a mass distribution of its products. But so far, WTER has proven to be a volatile stock that rises mostly on promotional efforts. Now, PR messages are reposted to investors’ boards, helping the hype somehow.
Despite the hiring of Ms. Brande Roderick, WTER has not produced another video about the properties of its water. The other source of information and interest are social networks that spread the same message about WTER, becoming repetitive.
While TraderTV has not taken a new ticker, the other big pumper- Hot Stock Ace Publisher had several selection since WTER. One of them, DataCall Technologies, Inc. (OTCMKTS:DCLT) has crashed despite- or even because of the promotion. Lifted from 3 to 10 cents in a day, the ticker went on to crash by 90% in less than two weeks.
Nuvilex, Inc. (OTCMKTS:NVLX) was also recently promoted, but the extra interest translated into a few days of solid sales and a continuing downward slide. Those two tickers show how a promotion is not always a guarantee for an influx of new eager buyers, but also a chance for holders to dump their extra shares before prices hit rock bottom.
The new week will show if WTER will make a more concentrated effort to stem the slide, or if it will leave the markets hash it out without a boost from new publicity. WTER has enough red flags to suggest that its happy days may be over, and the ticker may disappear for a while. Then, it would be a matter of time before another promotion revived WTER.
Still, the company may continue its efforts to distribute bottled water, and the new results should show how the ticker is doing. On the Amazon sale site, there is one five-star review, as Alkaline 88 (or Alkaline84, as WTER switches between titles) is shown as an alternative to other exorbitantly priced specialty waters. The brand of WTER is indeed relatively cheap compared to similar products, although the large bottle is placing it in a new segment, away from little stylish packages.
If you are looking at bargain prices, don’t be in a hurry to load up unless you can afford a continued slide.
