Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) Gains on New Distribution PR

The Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) just won’t give up. The ticker had a period of sliding, only to return back above 60 cents. On Wednesday, WTER grew by 13.5%, to reach 61 cents on dollar volumes of above $629,000. WTER1010.png

WTER came in with a new press release, an update on store distribution, which has been the company’s staple when it comes to news. Now, Alkaline88 is distributed in Fry’s Food Stores in Arizona, and according to the press release, the products are available in 119 locations. Amazon.com sales so far remain a token few.TQLA1010.png

Volumes are lower than usual, and WTER has still not avoided the crash as it drives away from the most active time for promotions. And the latest press release is another proof that the appeal of WTER is short-term. Investors’ forums react positively to news, but there is little talk of the company’s longer-term potential, despite the ongoing sales and a memorandum to buy a bottling factory and start new production from the beginning of 2014. Still, with a new PR and technical analysis, WTER is seen as a gainer in the short term.

Now WTER has to face trading as the weekend approaches. Last week, this was a time in the red for WTER, and Monday came with active selling and a retreat in price.

Similar companies show that post-promotion, tickers are easily forgotten. Montalvo Spirits, Inc. (OTCBB:TQLA) has a great sales and distribution network, including online. Yet once its paper mailer and emails ran out, TQLA sank even below 30 cents, as selling increases.

Jammin’ Java, Inc. (OTCMKTS:JAMN) was a struggler in the past months, that initially did not point to success. Yet the chain slowly managed to take its activity to winning levels, and for now has solidified a position around 40 centJAMN1010.pngs, drifting sideways for months, but stemming the slide. JAMN went from an ambitious promise to a stronger staple on the OTC penny stock markets.

Yet this is only a hypothetical possibility for WTER, which impresses with short-term gains, and a constant barrage of PR messages, either on investors’ forums or on its profile pages in well-visited business sites.

If you want to catch hold of WTER at a bargain, keep in mind that a fallout may come at any moment, and WTER has managed to slide down up to a third in just two days. Any period of silence for this stock affects the price negatively, so if PR is slow, make sure you can afford the price deflation.
