Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) Set Back Despite New Distribution Agreement
It becomes clearer and clearer that the Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) is less able to sustain another rising trend, with selling setting in quickly. On Thursday, WTER had another day of retreat, potentially entering the pre-weekend trading on a downward note. WTER lost more than 7% to stand at 56 cents, on dollar volumes above $1.39 million.
Just a day ago, WTER was boosted by a press release for a small pickup in distribution. And on Thursday, WTER came in with another addition to its distribution chain- a partnership with Alford Distributing Co. of El Centro, California. So far, the exact language of the PR speaks of an “agreement”, and there is no detail of the locations and range of shipping that may be expected. WTER for now has plenty of outreach, if we believe its messages, but time will tell if this will affect the bottom line, as last quarter the company showed no sales yet.
Despite the minor setback, investor forums remain positive, quite convinced of the company’s production potential. Also, there is already an expectation of regular newsletters, which act positively on the stock’s price. WTER, despite the setbacks, managed to move up to a quarter in a week, adding value for investors that estimate the right time frame.
WTER is still distributing a Facebook link asking for sharing, as well as a Twitter link that may yield tweets about the company, but not its own page. And Amazon.com sales are still quite few, mostly marking off the commercial site as another channel of publicity.
But at least WTER offers some updates- while Montalvo Spirits, Inc. (OTCBB:TQLA) has been silent for a while, only growing after a new press release on winning a tasting competition. TQLA went back up over 30 cents, its current watershed level, on the news for the 2013 Spirits of Mexico competition.
Jammin’ Java, Inc. (OTCMKTS:JAMN), has been relatively successful in its franchise activities, yet the stock was locked in a tight range for a while. JAMN is hovering around 41 cents, at the lower end of the scale. JAMN only touched the 50-cent range on a few days in the past months, sliding back after attempts at a new climb.
If you still believe WTER can have a good period, it is best to estimate your time frame well, as to avoid absorbing corrections that are threatening this ticker almost all the time. Don’t forget the rise in WTER was fueled by a $3 million promotion, and while this company may have chosen the “fake it till you make it” approach, it still has to show sustainable earnings before its stock moves out of the shadow of pumpers.
