AvWorks Aviation, Corp. (OTCMKTS:SPLI) Continues to Log Price Gains
AvWorks Aviation, Corp. (OTCMKTS:SPLI) is continuing to amaze, for now. On Tuesday after the long weekend, SPLI added more than 66%, not unusual for a ticker at $0.044, and buying volumes were similar to the activity in the last few days, at $665,560. Compared to other movers, those are rather slim volumes, but looking at the chart, this newly-turned marijuana company is enjoying a solid block of buying in the past days.
The only question is how long the enthusiasm would last, since SPLI is nothing more than a failed former supplier of aviation spare parts, currently merging with a cannabis company to get a piece of the liberalized market. SPLI has not revealed any news, and the latest paid promotion came in at the end of January, but momentum and expectations are strong, and an additional piece of news will only help.
SPLI is seen merely as a monster mover, one of many, and so far investors’ forums are enjoying the ride and the fast potential gains. On the positive side, SPLI has relatively few shares, around 270 million shares issued, compared to billions of shares for some of the sub-penny offers of the last days. There is no information of the share float, but the low number surely helps keep interest in this ticker.
SPLI also has the attraction of soon announcing the developments around the deal to merge with an electronic cigarette company. But it is already mid-week, and we’ll see when the company decides to push the new PR. The approaching weekend will in any case be a test for the robustness of this climbing trend.
Here is how the price of a pure-play vaporizer producer stacks up. As expected., Vapor Brands Int’l Inc. (OTCMKTS:VAPR) rose significantly, from five cents to $0.45, though it is now depressed at $0.28. The fast rise to prominence has its price, and for SPLI the correction may be similar.
MCIG, Inc. (OTCBB:MCIG) is another good-looking selection that made a slower, more gradual rise, and started the new week at positions of around 35 cents. Among vaporizer producers, the quality of companies varies greatly, though most boast of a ready product, usually existing electronic cigarettes. But as the year rolls on, we are eager to see real results coming in from various sellers that promise to benefit greatly from legalized cannabis, both recreational or medical.
Still, SPLI has enough red flags to place it among the riskier selections. It is best to be wary of very fast climbers, as a lot of sub-penny companies come in with claims to cannabis fame. But in the past months, only a handful of tickers manage to hang on long enough and become household names, while others, often at triple-zero positions, sink into obscurity again.
Also, the rise is greatly fueled by news, whether PR or mainstream mentions, so it is best to be aware that pot stocks have bad days when publicity goes quieter.
