Baristas Coffee Company, Inc.(PINK:BCCI) Pushes Upward, Awaits NASDAQ Ticker

What’s not to like about a coffee company that offers the refreshing beverage plus bikini-clad waitresses? While this may not sway investors too much, a NASDAQ listing promise from the past few days has kept up the stock of Baristas Coffee Company, Inc.(PINK:BCCI) on a rising trend. We don’t know the day when BCCI transitions to the symbol BAPI, but the upcoming event may stoke the fire for investors as they mop up shares at 6 cents, hoping for a higher price. BCCI_1_03_18.png

Starting from scratch, the coffee company managed to accumulate resources and even bid for Seattle-based Tully’s along industry giant Starbucks Corporation (NASDA:SBUX). On its own, Baristas holds the following financial strengths and weaknesses:

  • $22,213 cash
  • $471,000 total current liabilities
  • $116,839 net gain

It seems BCCI chose the right time and managed to turn profitable before being buried under a mountain of debt. While the recent crisis pushed Starbucks to close several shops and reorganize, Baristas may try to replicate the better days of the coffee giant.

Although BCCI has submitted its papers to the NASDAQ, the company still has to complete a lengthy procedure. So the optimism of the past days, re-fueled by last Friday’s notification of the upcoming listing, may be a bit premature, as some time may pass before Baristas gains access to the wider capital and prestige of NASDAQ.

For the past months, BCCI was a falling stock, trading up and down, bottoming out at 2 cents as several promotional emails lifted the stock in the fall but then caused a deeper fall. Meanwhile, Baristas was truly busy acquiring new locales of chains that resembled its business model, or opening its own shops in Seattle city and greater area. BCCI offers franchising, and for now has expanded to Texas, Florida, Arizona, and Montana, with more locations planned.

In October last year, BCCI was selected by Penny Stock Picks, a pumper with a long history of promotions. The pump went nowhere and BCCI continued its downward trend. This pumper has not taken up any more promotions since that time, and BCCI has regained its natural course. Whatever the course, it is best to estimate your own preferable time frame and avoid corrections of nearly 50% that BCCI has shown in the past.
