Barristas Coffee Co, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BCCI) Grows on a Surprising Promotional Email
Barristas Coffee Co, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BCCI) is a company that is still sandwiched between hopes of making it and running a successful chain, or crashing completely. At least on the OTC markets, the enthusiasm is cautious and BCCI was taken down from its recent peak. But this Thursday, BCCI had a remarkable day of gains, and it may entice investors once again. BCCI grew by more than 35% to reach $0.095, on dollar volumes above $839,000.
The reason behind the good day is quite clear- a free email from Trevor Micro-Cap Inplay, reiterating the main message of a year of real expansion ahead of this newly founded specialty coffee company. This is the first promotional email since the spring of 2013, and perhaps BCCI could extend the effect, since it is a frequent communicator through PR messages. Since March 20th, however, BCCI has not made any updates.
The returning buyers probably also saw a bargain opportunity, as the company has set up very optimistic expectations for 2014. All of this is of course the company’s own publicity, the latest being the title of “Most Exciting New Franchise ” in Inc. Magazine. Unfortunately, a search of the magazine’s site does not lead to the mention of the company, or its business opportunities. It’s a wait and see if BCCI will indeed appear in the “The Franchise Opportunities Guide” attached to the April issue of the magazine.
For that supposedly very successful 2014, BCCI is still relatively weakly equipped, when it comes to financials:
- cash: $48 thousand
- current assets: $100 thousand
- total assets: $7.5 million
- total current liabilities: $578 thousand
- revenues: $463 thousand
- net profit: $75 thousand
Still, compared to other companies, BCCI is not buried in losses. Though the expansion is under question, given the cash-poor position of the entity. Also keep in mind that BCCI has risen before on extraordinary enthusiasm, only to correct significantly.
BCCI recalls the story of Jammin’ Java Corp. (OTCMKTS:JAMN), which also struggled with a low stock price and limited reserves, but went on to impress investors with optimism. Unfortunately, JAMN has drifted sideways in the past days, and is stuck around the $0.34 levels.
Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. (OTCMKTS:VEND) is the other company that uses the power of the franchise business to achieve an even more impressive stock price. But for VEND, it is a struggle to keep the positions. VEND is moving between $3 and $4, with a dramatic climb at the beginning of the week to break through the $4 positions. But two days of selling dragged down VEND toward $3.84.
If you want to choose BCCI for its potential, keep in mind that without the email, the price was getting stagnant, and did not promise a run. Now, it is a matter of surviving the weekend and perhaps showing some of that true strength- or see the stock price sink again.
