BioNitrogen Corp. (PINK:BION) Growing on PR Fertilizer
Feeding the world with efficient agriculture may be a useful goal, promising high yields and amazing marketing success. However, in the case of Bio Nitrogen Corporation (PINK:BION) the success is only on paper. The company has only applied for a patent to its special technology in producing concentrated nitrogen fertilizer from biomass. Also, its production facility is not even in the initial stages of building.
Although the company is not in active promotion, renewed interest makes us expect mailing some time soon. Also, the stock is supported by a series of PR messages in well-respected websites. However, with production still far, its financial data don’t look supportive of its stock doubling its price in days:
- $8000 cash
- Zero revenues
- $4.9 million net loss
The data are from the end of last year and the company has delayed its filing with the SEC, not showing whether there is improvement that may make its plans sound more realistic. It’s encouraging that the company has shared its patent application number, removing doubts that the process has started, this is no guarantee that the company will receive patent protection. However, the “patent pending” status is for now legally used and not just a trick to attract attention.
However, Bio Nitrogen Corporation has managed to secure a $2 million grant from a local country authority. The money is in a form of reimbursement and it still far from the accounts of the company, which has yet to prove its ability to build the factory producing 15 tons of nitrogen fertilizer per hour. The company, however, seems to forget the little detail that there’s no free lunch in nature and the urea they are producing from “renewable” biomass may be depleting another area of land from nutrients. Usually, urea is chemically derived from fossil fuels and indeed is a fertilizer used worldwide, though Bio Nitrogen Corporation may be still far from global success.
BION was briefly promoted in May by Investors Hub in a one-off, no-compensation campaign. This promoter operates with a relatively small average budget of $4,333, with a total of 46 stocks promoted. One of its picks, Empowered Products, Inc. (OTC:EMPO) jumped significantly after the start of its promotion in mid-October, but lost 80% of its value since then as the emails went silent.
