iTalk, Inc. (OTCMKTS:TALK) Rises on Global Alert Email
A stock will sometimes talk the talk, but will it walk the walk? A long-time promotion that has on and off results, iTalk, Inc. (OTCMKTS:TALK) is rising again on a new promotional email. In two days, TALK moved up slowly, from 70 to 79 cents, on tentative buying volumes. Now, Monday comes to clarify if this much-hyped ticker can perform even better. At the end of last week, the ticker added a tame 5%.
We cover TALK regularly, as its price is quite high for a penny stock, and has a great leeway to fall, dragging down inveterate investors. On May 14th, TALK predictably shed more than 40% of its value on massive selling, but in the days that followed continued to stoke investors’ interest. The biggest hook for TALK are the overblown claims of promised success, based on selling their app in the Apple store for iPhone and iPad.
In an overloaded market of apps, no one is promised easy gains. But this has been enough to revive interest at the end of last week, when the latest press release for TALK came in. The company proudly announced that it was accepted into the Apple store “hall of fame”. The app gives the user another phone number to make voice calls over the phone’s internet connection, thus costing a faction of a real mobile phone plan. But even if the idea picks up with time, the TALK stock has shown that it has the potential to drop in an even shorter time.
The picture for TALK resembles that of Western Graphite, Inc (OTCBB:WSGP). This company also tries to recover after a long slide, adding around 5% at the end of last week, setting expectations for the new trading session. The only difference is that WSPG is so far not actively promoted, although it may be benefiting from the general hype surrounding small cap graphite miners. Similarly priced American Graphite Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:AGIN) is also active, with around 200K shares bought last Friday and a small climb to 56 cents.
Global Alert, the latest pumper for TALK, received a reasonable $40,000 to complete the promotion, paid by Chrystal Financial, LLC. The paid-for promotion should be the most significant red flag for investors just trying out TALK. After the emails are finished, TALK may sink even further, as before the previous round of promotions in May. So despite the promises of high earnings from the Apple store, TALK is mostly a pump business, and it is best to stay away unless you do your independent research and decide on an affordable investment.
Don’t be fooled by the fresh outlook of TALK- the company has been around, and even had the time to change names. Its last incarnation is from the end of 2012, but since 2007, a lot of insider investors hold a significant amount of shares bought at 5 cents. With a forward split, the 700K shares ballooned out to 17.5 million, just waiting in the sidelines to flood the market at the right price.
