Lightbridge Corporation (NASDAQ:LTBR) Prepares the Sale of New Shares of Common Stock
[[tagnumber 0]] [[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]Lightbridge Corporation (NASDAQ:LTBR) filed a few days ago an agreement to sell new shares of common stock and the share price of the company tanked to a new 10–week bottom. As the consulting business seems to weaken, the sale of stock seems the only alternative for LTBR to raise some cash.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]][[tagnumber 5]][[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]LTBR closed the last session on Monday with a 4.24% loss at $1.13, or very close to the new low hit at the end of last week. Trading volume was around the average yesterday and even though technical indicators on LTBR chart remain in a bearish position, the pre–market for today indicates the stock could make a huge jump up at market open.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]] [[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]Thus the price could easily jump to the moving averages which, however, should not mean long–term recovery, or the start of a new uptrend. LTBR market cap is quite low, yet currently it does not have sufficient resources to work on its objective to develop proprietary nuclear fuel designs for the nuclear power industry.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]] [[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]LTBR derives revenues from consulting services offered to governments outside the US, however, the amount of these revenues in this year‘s first quarter was less than half of what it used to be last year and with a history of recurring losses it looks like LTBR cannot stay in business without diluting its shareholders.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]] [[tagnumber 18]][[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]Last Thursday, LTBR filed an 8–K announcing a new agreement to issue shares of its common stock. The new shares will be issued under an existing registration statement and as “at–the–market” equity offering, meaning any new sales will affect directly the market price of the company‘s stock.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 22]] [[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 2]]The registration itself shows the total amount of securities sold can reach up to $75 million, which would raise a few times the currently outstanding number of common shares that is around 18 million.[[tagnumber 1]] [[tagnumber 0]] [[tagnumber 1]]
