Liquidmetal Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:LQMT) Breaks Happy Trend
The happy streak is broken for Liquidmetal Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:LQMT), as the ticker shed more than 11% on Tuesday, standing at $0.195, on selling volumes above $696,000. Mid-week, LQMT will have to show if it is capable of keeping up the high levels. The ticker landed there around the announcement of its financial results, and with no new press releases or email promotions may drift off, or land to a lower level.
Still, LQMT seems to be one of the stocks that do not make investors rush, holding a solid long-term potential, as it is seen through the financial filings:
- cash: $4.2 million
- total assets: $6 million
- total current liabilities: $1.8 million
- total liabilities: $4.6 million
- revenues: $150 thousand
- net loss: $1.9 million
LQMT depends heavily on success with its amorphous alloy elements, and next quarter may show if the company had any success entering the supply chain of automobile markets.
While waiting for LQMT to show something more dramatic, we need to look at two other tickers that in the past two weeks shared the attention of buyers of tech stocks.
One is ImageWare Systems, Inc. (OTCMKTS:IWSY), trading on high volumes above $980,000. The stock retreated shyly by around 3%, stopping at $2.20. In the past two months, the ticker has been mostly drifting sideways, showing small trends around the time the company gives PR hints of its development. But without those boosters, IWSY is in danger of losing investors’ interest and flopping.
And Sigma Labs, Inc. (OTCMKTS:SGLB) is less visible with volumes a bit below $200,000, standing in at 7 cents with a gain of more than 7% on the day. The PR and emails around the company have also been silent for a few days, a further proof that many tech stocks would not fare well merely because of the charming promises of the businesses, but react without fail to promotional efforts.
If you still need to follow LQMT or other similar tickers, it is best to choose your entry point well and not afford sums that you cannot afford to lose if the calm sideways drift turns into a steep waterfall.
