Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTCMKTS:MJNA) Creating a Buzz
Despite a lackluster week of trading, with the stock closing just shy of a percent down in yesterday’s session, Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTCMKTS:MJNA) is doing its best on the PR front, with a slew of press releases coming out over the last few days.
MJNA first announced that a vape pen loaded with the company’s HempMedsPX CBD oil was used on a Fox News program, as part of a campaign conducted by HempMedsPX to raise awareness of CBD-rich products.
Over the next couple of days two more press releases were posted, one informing that a HempMeds CBD oil received the ‘highest concentrate’ award at a Michigan conference. The other concerned the full scope of an awareness campaign, once again conducted through HempMedsPX, using various media and channels, to enhance public knowledge of health supplements containing CBD oil. Finally, last Friday the latest bit of PR informed that Ms. Cheryl Shuman has been retained as a ‘brand ambassador’ by HempMeds.
This kind of news may not have been exactly what MJNA investors have been looking forward to. The announced campaign and popular faces associated with the HempMedsPX brand may have a beneficial impact in the long run but it seems the barrage of news did not impress traders much as MJNA didn’t really go anywhere despite the rapid-fire succession of the news.
Speaking of HempMedsPX, it’s a name that is now attached to every single opening sentence of a MJNA press announcement, with a lengthy description making it very clear that the corporate portfolio company of MJNA is now the ‘exclusive’ distributor and marketer for both CannaVEST and MJNA. How successful building a brand around HempMeds will end up remains to be seen.
Other stocks moving large dollar volume in Monday’s session include Biozone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB:BZNE) who closed nearly 8% up at $0.55 per share. North American Oil & Gas Corp. (OTCBB:NAMG) dropped back to under $1.00, losing 11.8% on almost 800 thousand shares traded.
