The Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) Sees Pre-Market Attention from Pumpers

Gloom and doom have started gathering around The Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER), and this may turn the mood sour, despite the climbing buying volumes in the past trading days. WTER ended last week on a high note, adding around 4% on the day to reach 64 cents, on strong enough volumes of $880,000. In the past month, the ticker only had three days of selling, and the rest of the time was attracting more and more investors. WTER0826.png

The run upward for WTER is not extremely high, as it sometimes happens with promoted penny stocks. But the ticker was barely traded before the campaign this August, and the attention that brought the price increase is an anomaly. Without it, WTER may lose the support for a reasonable price. The higher tier OTCBB listing in no way guarantees stability. FDMF0826.png

So far, WTER seems determined to go on, while carrying:

  • $384,700 cash
  • $580,662 total assets
  • $37,762 total liabilities SNET0826.png
  • No revenues
  • $70,131 net loss

Still, analysts are dubious if WTER can really make a splash in the beverage market with bulky 3-liter containers that somehow deviate from the valuable market of small-packages drinking water. The brand, Alkaline84, named for its 8.5 pH levels, is already on shelves, but we are yet to see the results. And while we wait, the stock price may move according to a different logic.

While the promotion lasts, WTER may have a few more good days. The latest email came in this Monday, from Hot Stock Ace Publisher. In total, WTER was promoted for a relatively small budget of $30,000 and mentioned in eight emails this month. The promotion began on August 8th, and the last two days have been pushing to make Monday an active day.

Hot Stock Ace Publisher has a past history of intriguing promotions, most of which end in a sad way. The previous pick, Freedom Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCMKTS:FDMF) is the typical sub-penny play, and the pump caused many investors to fall for the double-zero ticker. Soon after the emails stop, such low-level stocks tend to go back to inactive trading at the lowest possible level.

SourcingLink.net, Inc. (OTCMKTS:SNET) is a higher-level speculative bid, jumping more than four times in a single day only to retreat to the initial levels soon after.

While WTER is moving more gradually, a correction could come any time, especially if sellers in the sidelines decide to cash in. Do not trust the potential of WTER to go up, and be prepared for corrections- and only invest after doing your own due diligence.
