Unisource, Inc. (OTCMKTS:USRC) Heads Up as Promoters Flock
A lot was lost for Unisource, Inc. (OTCMKTS:USRC), though not all, and in 2013 so far the stock grew more than four times in price, on bouts of gaining and periods of retreat. Now, USRC is on another upward leg, above 40 cents, and we have to see if the extra attention won’t call for a correction some time soon.
The latest trend was in anticipation of the financial results, posted on October 31st. The filings show:
- $1,000 cash, not updated since December 2012
- $156,000 revenue as of September 2013
- $115,000 net loss, narrowed from $1.4 million in June
But the biggest force that boosted USRC was a long-standing email promotion, that did not have dramatic results, yet managed to roll out USRC to high enough prices. The latest email came in on October 30th, and all the claims are bombastic- that a small company capped at 33 million would revolutionize the $6 billion US shipping industry.
The promotion for USRC contains just four emails and is worth $17,000, but this is enough to sway investors into buying a company that has little to show, and with a track record of deep crashes in 2012.
Still, USRC has some activity, as it is an OTC markets vehicle for Visionship, Inc., a provider of cloud-based shipping logistics software. So this subsidiary provides most of the revenues. Yet it is unknown if USRD would grab any significant amount from the large shipping market.
USRC was taken up by a whole retinue of pumpers, coming in every few days since September. The latest are Lions of WallStreet and UnderValued.com. Both received small compensations- $4,000 and $6,500 respectively, to mention USRC. The emails focus on the amazing potential of shipping software, plus the big gain possibilities ahead of the stock.
USRC recalls the story of 3D EyeSolutions, Inc. (OTCMKTS:TDEY), which also received recent interest from promoters and shot above the 1-cent levels for the first time in more than a year. Still, TDEY so far capped the run, stopping below the 2-cent levels, and has retreated a bit, mixing tentative buying and selling.
But the biggest promoter for USRC was WinningPennyStockPicks, receiving $25,000 back in September. Just looking at the record for this pumper gives us an idea of how USRC may fare soon. This promoter was involved in the Refill Energy, Inc. (OTCMKTS:REFG), a recently active ticker that crashed initially, to move between 60 and 20 cents in the last few months, mixing temporary appeal with riskier periods of retreat.
If you still believe USRC could go on, especially with new promotional messages, keep in mind that the effect may be temporary. Be prepared to lose your investment in part or in whole if USRC moves down as the hype goes quiet.
